Welcome to the Friends of Bull Run Shooting Center website.

The Friends of Bull Run Shooting Center (FoBRSC) is a volunteer organization dedicated to the support of Bull Run Shooting Center. This website is a major step forward to improve communications between the FoBRSC and both its members and non-member who enjoy the use of Bull Run Shooting Center. The FoBRSC supports the Shooting Center in three ways.

First, through various fund raising activities we provide supplemental funding for capital investment programs. All monies raised by the Friends are reinvested in the range. In the past the Friends were influential in acquiring:

  • A Voice Activated Release System for the trap field.
  • An Additional Wobble Trap.
  • Automated Release System for Sporting Clays course.
  • Additional Individual Trap machines.

Second, we provide volunteer workers for NSCA competitions, range maintenance, and by sponsoring fund-raisers, and by providing liaison between the Range Management and the NSCA for event planning and coordination. Examples of these activities include:

  • 3-Bird Tournament Shoot
  • Youth Day Shoot
  • Shooter’s Carnival
  • Shooting Clinics
  • Flurry Shoots and 5 Stand Side Games at Tournaments.

Third, the FoBRSC meets periodically with both Range Management and the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority to discuss range operation and future needs that may be supported by the FoBRSC. The NVRPA has reconfirmed its commitment to make Bull Run Shooting Center a flagship facility. Currently the FoBRSC is pursuing the acquisition of a scissors lift to provide tower targets to the Sporting Clays course. We are also exploring with the Range Management and NVPRA the feasibility of hosting a future Virginia State Championship. We invite all shooters to join and get involved in the Friends of Bull Run. Your involvement will help improve this truly unique shooting facility and will contribute to its future as a flagship public shooting facility for future generations of shooters.

Hope to see you at the range,
